Error message: The website encountered an error while retrieving

Hi

I have just installed WordPress then was taken through to my blog page to log into admin. Upon submitting my log in details I receive this message:

The website encountered an error while retrieving https://www.sewlala.co.uk/wordpress/wp-admin/. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.

I have tried refreshing, re entering and re starting my browser (thought not my system) & realise this could be a database or server error.

While I start to look further into this I though I would ask if anyone in the forums has come across this before?
