• I have been trying to set up my google/woocommerce account since Friday. I have uninstalled, cleared the cache and reinstalled twice but still get the same error message.

When I begin the set up process and input my phone number in order to receive the verification code I immediately get an error message which reads as follows:

THere was an error loading the Google Merchant Centre contact information. Please reconnect your google account.

I found instructions online about how to reconnect my google account but these all require accessing the Google Listings and Ads plugin which I gather is the old name for Google for Woocommerce.

    Please can you advise?

    Hello gillies63,

Thank you for contacting WooCommerce support.

I understand you’re encountering an issue with setting up Google for WooCommerce.

To clarify, Google for WooCommerce is the updated name for the Google Listings and Ads plugin.
Here are some steps to help you resolve this issue:

    1. Review Plugin Requirements: Ensure that your setup meets all requirements for Google for WooCommerce. You can find the full list of requirements here.
    2. Follow the Setup Guide: Walk through the setup and configuration process as outlined in the official guide here. This guide will help you ensure that all settings are correct and compatible.
    3. Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, a lingering cache can cause setup issues. Make sure you’ve cleared your browser cache, before attempting the setup again.

Once you’ve verified these steps, try reconnecting your Google account.
If the issue persists, let me know and I will be happy to assist you further.

    Best regards.

I have already done all of the things you suggest. I am receiving the instruction to reconnect my google account but cannot find out how to do so. As I said in my original support request

“I found instructions online about how to reconnect my google account but these all require accessing the Google Listings and Ads plugin which I gather is the old name for Google for Woocommerce.`’

How do I reconnect my Google account? I am stuck in a loop where I try to access Google for WooCommerce but in order to do so have to reconnect my Google account which apparently requires me to access Google for WooCommerce …. see my problem?!

    Hi @gillies63

It sounds like you’re experiencing issues with reconnecting your Merchant Center account. Here are some steps to try a fresh reconnection:

    1. Go to?https://example.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=connection-test-admin-page.
    2. Under?Merchant Center, click?MC Disconnect.
    3. Under?Google Account, click?Disconnect Google Account.
    4. Under?Jetpack, click?Disconnect Jetpack. (if available)

Next, please go to your Google account’s security settings, remove all access permissions for WooCommerce, and then repeat the setup process in the plugin.

For a full guide on connecting your Google Merchant Center account, please refer to this article.

Let me know if this helps or if you have any questions along the way!

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately the link to the test admin page is just a blank page.

However, I have looked on my own website dashboard and there is no Merchant Centre tab, I believe because I am, as I explained in my original post, unable to get as far as setting up the Merchant Centre in the first place. I seem to be stuck in an endless loop.

    Best wishes
