I am getting the following error when setting up the plugin

Warning: copy(/var/www/domainname.com/wp-content/mu-plugins/bps-mu-tools.php): Failed to open stream: Permission denied in /var/www/domainname.com/wp-content/plugins/bulletproof-security/admin/includes/admin.php on line 378

The php error means that BPS is denied by your web host from copying the BPS MU file to your /wp-content/mu-plugins/ folder. Do you have Managed WordPress hosting? Typically Managed WordPress hosting restricts the /mu-plugins folder and other /wp-content folders. To make the error go away > go to the Setup Wizard page > Setup Wizard Options > Go Daddy Managed WordPress Hosting (GDMW): > change this setting to Yes.

I am using cloud hosting manage panel xcloud.host

It could also be a folder permission problem. Check that the /wp-content/mu-plugins folder has 755 permissions. It could also be that the Script Owner ID and File Owner ID of /mu-plugins folder is not the same as your other WordPress plugin folders. You can check that on the BPS System Info page > File|Folder Permissions.

I will check. Thanks for the fast response. I also came across this ‘Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall’ which looks like it is similar to BPS and was wondering if you could explain the differences from your plugin.

I don’t really know that much about the Anti-Malware Security and Brute-Force Firewall plugin. The impression that I get is that it focuses mainly on malware scanning. It does not look like it has Login Security or JTC CAPTCHA spambot protection.
