• “YOU DO NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT PERMISSIONS TO ACCESS THIS PAGE.”

The above is the message I get when I try to log into the dashboard. It’s been going on for a couple of weeks now – EVERY time I try to log in. It accepts the login, then flashes the error banner. Not cool.

This is a one-person site – no one else has permission – only me.

Why is this happening and what can be done to fix it?

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thank you for responding.
I’m really too tired to deal with this tonight, so I’ll look it over in the morning. Suffice to say, I’m not a computer guru, so this is venturing into all new territory – a bit frightening. That, and I’ve got 30+/- plugins. I haven’t added any recently, except the one GoDaddy recommended, now that they are venturing into supporting WP.
    Tomorrow …

Don’t worry, it’s not too complicated, and good to learn. And what better time to learn than when you have problem to fix? ??
