Error Message Not Appearing

I’ve been testing this on posts/pages and as a widget and I notice that the error page never appears and just refreshes the page when the Custom Contact Form widget is used. JavaScript error handling would be best in this case.

Another thing that doesn’t work when using the Custom Contact Form widget is permissions for who can view the form. Even when no one, even admin, is given permissions to view the form.

I’ve been able to do everything successfully except that error messages never appear when user misses fields. The page just refreshes/resets and nothing happens.

I noticed the same problem – I think on a previous version of the plugin which I had installed on another site it went to a page which told you which fields were missed, and you could go back to fill it in. Actually not the most ideal error message – a pop-up like the success but saying it is a failure would be the best thing.

I encounter the same problem. I did some research:

The error messages do show up in the source code of the page.

Second thing i noticed: When you use this form in a widget; the errormessages do show up. They show on a seperate page.

I am not a coding genius, so I am not sure how to fix it; but maybe someone can, with these tips/hints.

I found the answer: the description needs to be filled out for the page you are showing the form on. If it is filled: then the error message appears too.

I came to this conclusion when using a Search Engine Optimizer (Gregs High Performance SEO) which let me fill in the Head Description on every page. When i filled that in: the error message appeared.

You can probably resolve it easier by adding

<meta name="description" content="this is my blog" />

to the page itself
