    When I get to the second part of the installation of the blog I get the message below. it repeats do w the page about 30 times. Then says success at the bottom and give me a user name and password. When I click continue it goes back to step one.

    Can anyone help please?

  • Hi, Sorry about the obvious question, but did you set up your MySQL database before you started the install? And are you absolutely certain of the username, password, database name and all that?

    And if you added a user, and give them all the database permissions? (Create, Delete, and so on…) This is the first thing I would check.
    Believe me, I’ve done this loads of times, and I’ll even mess up some part of this long chain of steps.

    It’s also possible that your host may not let you do the WP database loading on the fly, required for the typical WP install. You could ask your host about that. If you’ve made other WP sites there before, this would not be the case.
