Error message

  • I was working from my desk top where my media files are
    located and tried to upload them using the word press option to add the
    images. I got the error message “Unable to create directory
    /home/kno/public_html/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/04. Is its parent
    directory writable by the server?” I had a friend who is very knowledgeable help me with the Word Press installation to my Bludomain site (I’m a photographer) as my webhost. I am a Mac user.

    You’ll need to to FTP to your site, go into the wp-content directoty. is the uploads file there? if not create it.

    Then what are the permissions (chmod) for that directory? I’d start at 666 and tweak from there until you find the best setting for your installation.
