    Using all the default settings and getting this error message:

    [21-Aug-2023 11:52:20 UTC] Cron unschedule event error for hook: wordfence_start_scheduled_scan, Error code: could_not_set, Error message: The cron event list could not be saved., Data: {“schedule”:false,”args”:[1692592200]}

    Sometimes with tools like Query Monitor, errors can crop up that would have normally gone unnoticed and are not the source of any fatal errors in the running of your site or Wordfence.

    Even if the job mentioned does not appear in your list of cron jobs any more, things should be fine so long as your scans are completing. This cron job’s function is to watch a running scan to ensure it finishes. It does not need to be rescheduled when it ends. The cause could be a race condition where two of the same hits occur at the same time, which has been a long-standing issue in WordPress. It’s likely that one of the hits succeeded, and this error is the result of the second.
