• Hi,

Just a suggestion – the error log is stored in includes/error-log/yikes-easy-mailchimp-error-log.php but this will alert the likes of Wordfence to changes to the plugin files from the files held in the repo. Would it not be better to have the log stored as a text file in wp-content/uploads or another folder in wp-content?

    Hey Andy,

Thanks for bringing this up. It’s a good point. My counter argument is that we only write to the error log when in debug mode and users will explicitly turn this on. If they were alerted to an issue they would understand why. Also, they can wipe the file whenever they want and this will keep it in sync with the repository. Keeping it within the plugin also adds a convenience factor as everything is stored in one place.

I think it’s time for me to do some research on WordPress error log best practices.

    Thank you sir,
    Kevin.
