We just released 2.1.8, it has one other fix it in for very specific shortcode setups.

Just wanted to let you know that updating the plugin didnt fix it but changing it the filters to “FALSE” worked. Weird, hope this does’t disable any features I need ??

I’m still using JW 5 commercial license. Every time I try the JW 6 upgrade none of my videos play. It appears to be the old code for the HD toggle, since works when I remove plugins=”hd”. Unfortunately have a lot of videos on the site to amend though. I’m looking for the new WordPress code instead of the old:

@msvideo – JW6 does HD toggling very differently than JW5. It will still work, but it is done with different syntax, and not with a plugin, it has been built into the player. If you update to 2.1.8, it includes the fixes for JW5 as well though, so you can always update to 2.1.8, but stay in JW5.

@jakols – What is the shortcode for this post? The source of your post has nothing in the setup() at all. Can you try my work around from post #5 here?

The fix inside of jwplayermodule.php, it can still be used for 2.1.8 if the upgrade didn’t work.

Thanks for confirming. I struggle to find example WordPress syntax and would appreciate your assistance amending the JW5 code below to JW6 for the new HD switching.

On the subject of HD switching, do you know if works on iOS devices and HTML5 browsers with JW6? For a while now with JW5 hasn’t worked on iPhone and iPad, these devices get served with the SD file.

It’s a shame they haven’t fixed this in the last YEAR.

I stopped using JW Player long ago, but do wish you all good luck and a speedy fix.

No, sorry, didn’t work for me…
I updated with the last version, 2.1.8, I also changed True to False on the php file… Nothing ! Video wouldn’t appear.

So far I had to Downgrade to WP 4.0 to make it work again.

Any solution ? I am using JWP5.
