    Today, when viewing my blog stats on wordpress.com, I saw the note “(titles unavailable while plugin deactivated).” Jetpack was not deactivated, but I tried deactivating it and then activating it again. Now I am getting the following error message when I try to do so:

    Jetpack could not contact WordPress.com: register_http_request_failed. This usually means something is incorrectly configured on your web host.

    connect() timed out!

    Any ideas?

    I should mention: My site is bad-entertainment.net.

    I am having the same problem; started today. No change has been made on the site. Checked with hosting all ports are open.

    I am now able to connect Jetpack with wordpress.com, and stats are registering again. However, the title of my most recent post is still appearing as, “(titles unavailable while plugin deactivated).”

    I don’t see that on your site – most recent post “Clouds of Sils Maria”? – have you tried clearing your browser cache?

    To clarify, that message is showing up as the title on the stats page — no big deal, but maybe an indication that something’s still wrong?

    Ah, okay – that’s one for JetPack support – just thought I’d try since they are gone until April 20

    Hi Eric! It looks like there is still an issue with Jetpack’s connection on your site. Could you please try disconnecting and then reconnecting Jetpack to WordPress.com once again?

    To do so, navigate to Dashboard > Jetpack. Then, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Disconnect from WordPress.com” link. After doing so, click the “Connect to Get Started” button to reconnect.

    Please let me know when you have done so, and I will check that your connection is working properly on our end. Then we can go from there!

    Actually, everything looks normal now, unless you’re seeing something on your end?

    I’m afraid that I still see an error with your connection. Could you try cycling the connection, just to see if that clears the issue on our end?

    Done. Any better?

    It looks like that did the trick. Are things working properly on your end?
