Error: Invalid site key or not loaded in api.js

Hi there,

Im tearing my hair out for the last 5 hours trying to figure out why I’m getting the ‘Error: Invalid site key or not loaded in api.js’.
The key showing in the console is completely different to the one registered for the particular site. None of my other sites have this key either.

I deleted and recreated the keys several times for my site, using all versions of recaptcha, being very careful every time about matching the versions of the keys both in my site and in google/recaptcha.

Please, why am I getting this error?
Why does it insist on showing a completely irrelevant key anyway and getting the ‘wrong key’ error, (which of course it will give since it’s registering a different key).
Where can I sort of delete this key anyway?

Please help, none of my forms are working and I couldn’t even log in. I had to re-name the folder.
Also, when I deleted both the plugin and google’s recaptcha key, I still couldn’t send forms and kept getting same message – even after I cleared cache!!!

I’m going mad here please..!!

Note 1: I use Wordfence plugin if this is any help – but have made sure GDPR options are disabled anyway.
