To answer your query in relation to Google search impact this notice your encountering is within the Site Kit codebase. It doesn’t have any impact on the effectiveness of Google Search. Site Kit is an admin operated plugin so any notices or errors remain with your administrator panel.

Many thanks for sharing the additional information. There doesn’t seem to be anything out of the ordinary in relation to your setup, although your Site Health information reports a Site Kit placed Analytics snippet despite a “Global Site Tag Tracking plugin” comment above your snippet when checking your sites source code.

So we can troubleshoot this further can you follow the steps below and inform me if the same issue persists?

1. Login to your site from a Chrome browser incognito window
2. Install and activate the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.
3. Navigate to “Plugins > Health Check & Troubleshooting > Troubleshoot”.
4. From the same screen click on the “Available Plugins” tab at the top right and then click on the “Enable” option next to “Site Kit by Google”
5. Check for the issue once more.
6. If the same occurs please disconnect the Analytics module so we can check if the same issue occurs with only the Search Console module active

Let me know how you get on with the above. The mentioned steps can help rule out plugin, browser or theme related conflicts.

After carrying out your instructions, the same error remains.
I am not sure how to ‘disconnect Analytics Module’. By ‘module’ do you mean plugin?
After clicking Site Kit > Analytics, it tells me that I haven’t completed the analytics activation.
Then on clicking ‘Complete Setup’ it shows “Error: Invalid module slug” (twice). “An existing Universal tag was found on your site with the ID UA-xxxxxxxx-4”. I have installed this tag using the plugin “Global Site Tag Tracking” in accordance with my Google Search account. Might there be some sort of conflict happening?
When I click on ‘Search Module’ same thing – ‘Invalid Module Slug’.
What I have found is that the page source shows a different tracking ID to the correct google Search console tracking ID, and I cannot seem to be able to find it when searching my file manager! I do not know how to change this.

Many thanks for sharing the additional insights, very useful. While I’ll check for any possible conflict using the same “Global Site Tag Tracking plugin” can you perform the steps below and inform me if you’re able to proceed?

1. Reset Site Kit (Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings > Reset Site Kit)
2. Temporarily deactivate the “Global Site Tag Tracking plugin”
3. Setup Site Kit once more, while also connecting the Analtyics module

Note that when resetting Site Kit all connected services must be connected once more, for all connected users. As you’re the only connected user at the time of sharing your Site Health information this shouldn’t be an issue.

I had already reset Site Kit and deactivated “Global Site Tag Tracking” to no avail.

I have also tried purging the cache, and also updated Site Kit to 1.38.1.

The error remains.

To disconnect the Analytics module you need to navigate to “Site Kit > Settings > Analytics > Edit > Disconnect Analytics from Site Kit“. If you’ve already performed a “Reset” of the plugin then the Analytics module would have also been disconnected.

If the Analytics tab is visible in your wp-admin dashboard then you may have tried to connect Analytics once more or the reset didn’t complete. for further troubleshooting I’d like to see what errors remain with the Analytics module disconnected. Please follow the steps below:

1. Disconnect the Analytics module
2. Check for any dashboard errors on your primary Site Kit dashboard
3. Deactivate the “Global Site Tag Tracking plugin” – which currently placed your Analytics tracking ID
4. Connect the Analytics module within Site Kit once more before checking your Site Kit dashboard once again

After performing the above please whether you encounter any dashboard errors. If you do see any dashboard errors please share your Site Health information once more. This will show that the Analytics snippet has been placed via Site Kit while also showing your other Analytics plugin as deactivated.

If the same issue occurs we’ll check your “siteground-optimizer-assets” feature and other plugins. From inspecting your sites source code and using Chromes developer tools it looks like you may have some optimization features which may be impacting your Site Kit dashboard. While typically the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin steps you already performed can help rule out such conflicts we can perform additional checks after we know on the above.

Thanks for your patience on this. I’ve checked with the team and it’s possible there may be some server configurations resulting in these errors, which are set to appear in the case whereby a requested module doesn’t exist.

Can you try and reset the plugin (Site Kit > Settings > Admin Settings > Reset Site Kit) and check whether the same notice appears after setting up once more? Note that after resetting Site Kit you’ll need to connect all services once more. As you’re the only connected user this won’t impact any other administrators.

Should you encounter the same error please share the following information:

1. Was Site Kit working for you previously, on this site or any other site on the same hosting platform? You can setup another WordPress install to check if you’ve never attempted setup previously.
2. Can you share any XHR response from the same screen where this error occurs? Please don’t share your XHR details within this support topic, you can share via the same form previously used. This will provide some insights which we can investigate the failure point further.

I have done everything you suggested (some even beforehand) and I have decided that I have spent too much of my time trying to rectify this problem.

Therefore I have chosen to de-activate and uninstall the plug-in(s) as there are other options now in place and running smoothly.
