Trying to set up Site Kit but keep getting the same error:

Error: Internal Server Error Failed to check requirements for the site

I am a Super Admin for our Google Business account.

I have tried many other things to get this working and I am stuck. I have disabled all plugins, access the site through a Chrome Incognito window, tried using Troubleshoot mode.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

@thehamilton Thanks for sharing the information that’s very helpful indeed. This error occurs when Site Kit is unable to check whether all plugin setup requirements are met. Most often, this requirement is a lack of permissions in Google Workspace for your Google account to access the appropriate Google service that you are trying to set up via Site Kit.

If you are the Google Workspace administrator then please check and turn on permissions?for the service for your Google account. Otherwise reach out to the Google Workspace administrator if that isn’t you to check and do the same.

Let me know how you get on with this and if I see anything that stands out from your Site Health then I will let you know here.

Thanks! I will check permissions on my account.

Can you tell me which services are related to Site Kit? I saw no Search Console, Analytics or Site Kit under the apps/service list.

@thehamilton No problem, when logged into Workspace the admin will need to check at Apps > Additionsal Google services and ensure that the following services are on for the Google account you are using to sign into Site Kit:

    • Google Search Console
    • PageSpeed insights
    • Analytics
    • Tag Manager
    • AdSense
    • Ads

You may not have all of these but these are the available modules in Site Kit at this time. By default you will need Google Search Console access as this is required when setting up Site Kit. All others are optional but if you wish to connect them in Site Kit you will need to grant the permissions at Workspace level if they haven’t been already.

Let me know if you have any questions on the information above.

Thank you so much for following up.

I am trying to set up a time with the client to go through their Google Admin and grant permissions. At this point SiteKit is not active on the site.
