After updating to the latest version, the input box disappeared and the CC icons are all huge. disabled caching to test but that was not the solution. Reverted back to 5.2.0 which was stable and works well.

Please test the new update… Not sure if I am the only one. This error shows on 2 websites.

This does indeed seem like some possible issue with recent changes to the Stripe gateway. That said, it seems unlikely to affect *everyone* using Stripe, or else we’d be hearing about this from hundreds of people every hour, but we are not. My theory for right now is that 5.2.1 triggered some sort of conflict with some other code (plugin or theme perhaps) that all of you also have installed on your sites.

In order to try to find the common factor involved, if you have not done so already, can you please share your system status report in this thread? You can find it under WooCommerce > Status in the dashboard. Click “Get system report” and then the “Copy for support” button. Once you’ve done that, paste it into your reply.

If you prefer not to share that publicly, you can always open up a private ticket with us instead, at the link below. Please reference this thread when you email us.

    https://woocommerce.com/my-account/create-a-ticket/

Those of you with staging sites can do a quick conflict test like so:

    • Temporarily switch your theme on staging to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce and Stripe
    • Try going to checkout again

If you’re not seeing the same problem when you do that, then you’ll know the problem was likely with a plugin (or theme) you deactivated to do the test.

To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each one, until you find checkout is broken again.

    Let us know, thanks! ??

Just to add some feedback…this is not an issue of any other variables changing. We have confirmed that your 5.2.1 and 5.2.2 have broken something from 5.2.0 that causes the Stripe Gateway Credit Card Fields to not load properly. It’s not a factor of any theme or other plugin, or even WooCommerce. I’ve rolled back everything in several sandbox sites we use for WPLaunchify testing, and come up with same result. 5.2.0 works fine, but thereafter it’s broken for that specific issue.

To your question of something in Stripe gateway being the issue… I suggest you guys can compare your own code changes from 5.2.0 to 5.2.1 and you will find out what you changed as being the cause…since 5.2.0 works perfectly well.

    Cheers!

this is not an issue of any other variables changing. We have confirmed that your 5.2.1 and 5.2.2 have broken something from 5.2.0 that causes the Stripe Gateway Credit Card Fields to not load properly. It’s not a factor of any theme or other plugin, or even WooCommerce.

Ehh, I’m just not sure yet. You might be right in the end, we’ll see eventually I suppose. ??

My hunch however is that some other plugin or theme code must be involved somehow, since if this was happening to everyone who’s upgraded to Stripe 5.2.1 or later, we’d be absolutely swamped with tickets and chats about this here in support, but we just aren’t. Nor can we reproduce this on our testing sites merely by updating to Stripe 5.2.1 or 5.2.2.

So yeah… The best way forward for now seems to be trying to find a common factor. I’ve also alerted the Stripe plugin devs to take a look at this thread and see if they have any ideas as well.

I’m not sure I understand the correlation between an absence of tickets and the existence or not of a bug…but I’m sure you guys will look into it either way.

    Do keep us posted ??

    Thanks!

Do any of you have a site that we can look at where the issue still appears? This will help us diagnose the problem.

I understand that updating Stripe to 5.2.1/5.2.2 will impact the look and functionality of the site, so it might be helpful if you could set up a staging site for that (so that you can update the plugin on the staging site, while leaving your live site untouched).

If you don’t already have a staging site set up, check with your hosting company as many offer this as part of their packages. Otherwise, you can use a free plugin such as?WP Staging to set one up easily.

If it’s helpful, there is one other piece of information that we’ve found in our testing, and also seems to be in your other tickets here in the support area:

The problem only seems to occur for third party checkout plugins like CartFlows and WooFunnels and even our LaunchFlows. Similar unusual size card icons (css) and card fields not showing or being squished (.js)

To help you see whether this is a contributing factor, I’ve setup a site with WC, Your Plugin and CartFlows free.

I have a hunch that there was maybe a naming convention changed for loading the .js and .css for the stripe gateway that now breaks the previous reference that was/is relied upon by all these other sales funnel plugins (including my own), but I’ve not yet dug in since this was just reported to me today for first time…and I’ve verified it across all our testing sites as mentioned (5.2.0 is fine).

You can see that the unusual card icons and fields being missing shows here. We’ve seen similar with WooFunnels and other sales funnel plugins as well, but not on 5.2.0 and not on native WooCommerce checkout without those plugins.

    See here: https://launchflows.wplaunchify.site/checkout-woo-2/

Hi, all on this thread –

We really appreciate the multiple reports on this issue and want to assure you that our developers are looking into this urgently.

ETA: We have now been able to replicate this issue with CartFlows and are working on pinpointing the exact cause of this. Thanks for providing all of these details!

To clarify about the requests to test with Storefront – so far we have not yet been able to replicate this internally. Because of that, any testing or details you can give us about the issue on your sites will help us replicate this and address it as soon as possible.

We’re not suggesting that you switch themes to Storefront as a permanent solution for this issue. We are just trying to gather as much information as possible about what conditions this issue occurs in.

If any of you are able to provide additional details on testing you have done on sites with this issue – theme, plugin, or otherwise, we would greatly appreciate it!

Thank you @ajtek for sharing your Site Status Report! If you have not already rolled back, or if you have a working test site where you’re seeing this issue, could you please do a full clear of anything cached by Litespeed and let us know if that changes anything?

Yep feel free to use this site a base/testing as it’s having the same issues

    https://www.elitefreakz.co.uk/checkout/

    Woo 5.4.1
    WP 5.7.2
    Stripe 5.2.2
    Theme – Uncode

Has the issue of not having the text fields on the card area, so no data can be entered

Switching all the other plugins apart from Woo and Stripe cause the same issue. The checkout page is made by using a shortcode on the page with the WPBakery builder however NO ISSUE was in 5.2.0 and back so something in 5.2.1+ is the issue

Not theme, not other plugins – THIS PLUGIN
