I am contacting you because I am encountering certain problems with the merchant and product update sheets that I am not sure how to solve: The first mistake has to do with merchant tokens.

In Google Search Console I am notified that the following fields are missing:

I would like to know if I can add a rule to correct these errors. Although it says that it is not strictly necessary, for us it is because it interferes with other functionalities, such as reviews.

I’m going to take a product from my online store as an example, and I’ll visually show you my problem. Sorry that the images appear in Spanish, I will explain it to you in as much detail as possible.

I will take the example of the product KIT OPTIMA MARBELLA 3P (86->98) – PANDA 3P (83->03): https://negrillo.es/compra-barras-de-techo-bacas/kit-optima-marbella-3p-86-98-panda-3p-83-03/

This recommendation appears in Google Search Console, which says that the “description” field is missing:

As you can see, the description appears on the web page, even if I search for the product listing in Google Merchant Center it appears with the description:

However, when checking the Google Search Console rich results test, the description field also appears to be missing:

This is what makes me not understand anything that is happening. We already use the Yoast SEO plugin and it does not give any type of error, so I think that is not the problem.

    Hello @cberzosabc,

Thanks for using the Yoast SEO plugin and I’ve addressed your concerns below:

    Missing field “description” (optional)
I can confirm that the product doesn’t have a meta description; check the page source and search for <meta name="description" content=". Edit the product on your WordPress site and ensure you have something filled in the meta description field.

Missing field “shippingDetails” (optional) & Missing field “hasMerchantReturnPolicy” (optional)
We understand you want to add the?shippingDetails?and?hasMerchantReturnPolicy?properties to your product schema. Google recently began reporting on these?optional?schema properties; however, some questions about proper implementation still need to be answered. Thus, we await more information from Google before considering including them as part of the offer schema.?

Although Yoast SEO does not automatically add these properties to the?Offer?part of the?Product?schema markup, all of our schema output can be changed, managed, and extended to better fit the needs of any site. You or your developer can use the?@id?property of the?Offer?piece to extend the Schema data with relevant information like?shippingDetails?or?hasMerchantReturnPolicy.?Learn more about the Yoast Schema API here.
