ERROR – Image caption and quotation marks

  • Hi there:

    We use a NextGen gallery for staff photographer slideshows at my paper.

    We noticed a while back that some captions on the images were cut off, missing. After some trouble shooting, it looks like any time there is a quotation mark in something, it screws it up.

    As journalists we use quotation marks a lot in our captions — to attribute quotes, etc. — so we kind of need them to work.

    I’m not sure I have access to all the back-end coding and such, but I can get that info to our web folks, who are pretty lost on all this too.
