We’re having an issue with the WordPress plugin. We’ve checked permissions and tried setting the data storage directory to something other than uploads but it didn’t work. Here’s the bug report.

    Summary

Clicking “Apply Hardening” for “Block PHP Files in Uploads Directory” fails with the error message “SUCURI: Error hardening directory, check the permissions.”

    Preconditions

    • Logged in to wp-admin as admin

    Steps to Reproduce

    1. Go to the Sucuri menu -> Dashboard -> Hardening (tab)
    2. Click “Apply Hardening” for “Block PHP Files in Uploads Directory”

    Expected Result

    • “Block PHP Files in Uploads Directory” turns green
    • .htaccess for the uploads directory is modified to contain rules to prohibit the execution of PHP files inside of it (we think that’s how this works)

    Actual Result

    • error message “SUCURI: Error hardening directory, check the permissions.”
    • “Block PHP Files in Uploads Directory” is still red

    Workaround
None that we are aware of
