• Osiyo tohitsu? ‘hello, how are you?’

I downloaded the ActivityPub but it is only partially working.

I can see the user/actor Nerdica and pleroma.com (though it wont come up at all on cliq.social running an instance of Misskey). However, my blog posts aren’t coming up when I visit the identifier on either Nerdica.net (Friendica instance) or Pleroma. I sent a request from both to follow my blog user.. and on Pleroma it says request sent. My understanding is that wordpress should auto accept. I’m not seeing anywhere from the wordpress side to accept or deny though both my Nerdica and Pleroma accounts are listed under followers on the wordpress side. I can access the the author page, there doesnt seem to be any redirects. I have Akismet installed but I doubt that is it? No SEO installed.

    domain: anikutani.ddns.net
    AP hanle: [email protected]

    My webfinger is as follows:

    //

    Request Log
15:48:08 Looking up WebFinger data for acct:[email protected]
    15:48:08 GET https://anikutani.ddns.net/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct%3Atsesi%40anikutani.ddns.net
15:48:08 Error getting JRD: Get https://anikutani.ddns.net/.well-known/webfinger?resource=acct%3Atsesi%40anikutani.ddns.net: x509: certificate has expired or is not yet valid
    JSON Resource Descriptor (JRD)
    null

    \\

It seems to be that either there is a problem with JSON or simply retrieving the JSON resource but I dont know anything about JSON. I do notice this is attempting an http*s* protocol though I have that set up.

When I try to access my site via https I get a notice that the certificate is actually for dotvpn which on the one hand isnt surprising because I using the dotvpn plugin on chrome and yet surprising because that is through my browser not my router or webserver. I use dotvpn to access my site locally, and havent checked to see if my router has loopback options. I suppose dotvpn is affecting my connection more than I though, however accessing the site via http non s works fine. It is also puzzling because I could have sworn than I started using the AP plugin before before I started using dotvpn and still had an issue. I’m not sure what else the issue could be though.

So I just turned dotvpn off an accessed the https version of the site on mobile. I got a security warning again but could bypass it to get to the site. could webfinger be snagging on the the warning interception or no? That may be more of a browser thing?

—- On a completely unrelated topic, while it is my understanding that aside from comments, AP plugin is one while and doesnt allow me to view my followers profiles, see their media or private message them… does the plugin pick up on all activity stream data on on my wordpress under my user? What I mean is if I install buddypress which apparently uses activitystreams, will it grab that buddypress data and add it to my user lookup from Friendica, Mastodon etc? If Buddypress implements AP would that conflict or maybe even allow to federate Buddypress somewhat? That might be a question for the BuddyPress team but I was wondering if you had any commentary on federating wordpress that way.

    Thanks

Frustratingly this topic is apparently marked as spam by your automated system..probably because of the VPN. I did get a tunnel connection error and have to turn it off to post.

@tsesi the missing SSL certificate might cause most of the issues, since HTTPS is required by the spec.

One problem with not seeng posts: Mastodon & Co. does not support querying old posts, only the posts you write after following, are shared with the follower.
