    Good morning,

After changing hosts and moving (one of) my website(s) (https://tr.rasa.nu), I initially dealt with the error that haunted most of us at some point. Right now, the homepage is working as you can see, but I’m unable to click any link or go to any page except for the homepage.

Now I wonder, is my database incomplete? What is the safest way to check this and resolve the issue? I only have one backup of the database, which I uploaded. The homepage does show previews of articles that are posted, but you can’t access them.

Anyone who has had a similar problem? I need to get this running fast ?? I’m getting confused.

  • There might be two reasons for this issue:

    1. After uploading database, have you changed the home URL and site URL in wp_options table of your database? If not, try changing them.

    2. Due to .htaccess file: In your dashboard, open the Setting->permalinks. Here you will see the setting for permalinks. Choose “default” option and save it. Then again choose it as “Post Name” and save it. With these steps, your .htaccess be configured again.

Thank you for your input. I did already change the siteurl in wp_options. I tried your second option, but for me, it did nothing. However, I noticed that in wp_posts all the links to the posts and pages still contained the old URL. I replaced all these old URLs with the new one, and now the website works again.
