• I’m a total beginner – please bear with me

I did successfully a website for my brother’s restaurant, now I’m trying to do a second website for myself.
I’m using a macbook pro, MAMP 4.1.1 and bluehost hosting service.

in my htdocs folder I have the folders wordpress1 (for my first website) & Chamonix (the one I’m trying to do)

NOTE: In the hotdogs/wordpress1 folder are the following files
    index.php
    license.txt
    wp-activate.php
    wp-admin
    wp-blog-header.php
    wp-comments-post.php
    wp-config original.php
    wp-config.php
    wp-content
    wp-cron.php
    wp-includes
    wp-links-opml.php
    wp-load.php
    wp-login.php
    wp-mail.php
    wp-settings.php
    wp-signup.php
    wp-trackback.php
    xmlrpc.php

When I go to phpMyAdmin, I created the DataBase Chamonix
and try to do localhost:8888 and get “Error establishing a database connection”
try localhost:3306 and get “Safari can’t connect to the server”

    NOTE 2:
    Host localhost
    Port 3306
    User root
    Password root
    Socket /Applications/MAMP/tmp/mysql/mysql.sock

I’ve looked in the help of WordPress and doesn’t say anything about the file structure to have two or more wordpress installations in your macbook.
Can someone help? I’ve spent a week looking for info in the topic.
