• My boss asked me to remove the testimonials section of our company blog https://blog.winterwyman.com/ so I went into the menu section in the back end and chose remove to remove the menu tab just for that one section so that there were only 3 tabs remaining – which seemed to work fine, but now I can’t even log into our account anymore!

When I try to view the page as a visitor I get a blank page that’s continually refreshing, but when I try to log on through the /wp-admin dashboard I get this message: “Error establishing a database connection. This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost.

And NOW when I try to enter my user name and password on the main wordpress site it doesn’t recognize it at ALL!!! I just had to make this new account just to ask for help in the forum! Now I’m ready to cry. PLEASE HELP ME!!!

It looks like something else has been changed as i can’t access your website.

do you have a backup of the website files and the database?

Can you check your error log as it might provide some clues as to any changes that may have been made.

Actually – it’s miraculously and mysteriously back up now and my username and password are suddenly recognized again. Very strange and concerning. Sorry for the freak out, but thanks for responding so quickly and trying to help – it’s nice to know that there are smart people out there willing to help a dope like me.
