Error establishing database connection
-
I have created a WP site using EasyPHP. Had it up and working, took a great while because I haven’t worked with WP in several years. Tried to clone the site, also on localhost and was working my way through getting the clone to work – I boot up the laptop today, and now the original site has stopped working. I’m getting “Error establishing database connection” error when I attempt to bring it up. This site was working perfectly, and absolutely nothing was done to it since the last time I looked at it.
I know “Error establishing database connection” is a pretty generic error and I’m sure it could be caused by any number of things, but the fact that nothing was changed on the site or in the DB is infuriating! Given that nothing was changed, is there anything you could recommend for me to check? I’ve tried starting EasyPHP as admin, which I usually don’t have to do, checked wp_config file and it looks exactly the same (I have the DBName, Password, etc. saved in another file to compare with), but I’m getting no satisfaction.
Please forgive me if I sound irritated – my words don’t nearly express how irritated I really am, but blowing off steam in a support form is annoying to others and not productive. But I have to show this site to a client in 2 days, and have very little time to devote to this. I thought most of the work was already done…
