• Hi,
My site was re-designed and moved in late October 2013 from wordprss.com. My host says it’s not them and I am with a good host, wordpress can’t seem to help and I’m lost. When I publish a post sometimes I get this error message. The post does post to the blog, it does go to social media BUT it’s not getting sent out to my .com subscribers that were moved over by .com to .org. Has anyone had this happen and can someone help me solve this on-going problem. Thank you for any help and support. Cheers

    Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
Are you sure that you have typed the correct hostname?
Are you sure that the database server is running?

If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

  • If this doesn’t happen all the time then it’s a server problem, but don’t expect your hosts to acknowledge that.

What’s happening is the connection between the hosting server and the database server isn’t available or has crashed when you’re trying to do whatever it is that you’re doing. This normally happens becaue one of both servers are overloaded, the connection pool has been all used up or there’s network issues. All of these re server problems and can only be solved by your hosting company.
