    Hello,

After upgrading to WP Duplicator 1.3.4 (from 1.2.52), when running the installer, I get error message “Error establishing a database connection” in step 4 of 4 when trying to login to my site.
The problem also happens with 1.3.0 and 1.3.2, not with 1.2.52 and earlier releases.

When looking into wp-config.php, I see that the database, user and password are not updated with my inputs from step 2. Manually updating these solves the problem. I also see that the installer.php file is much smaller (about 35k) then before (about 500k). Is this a bug ?

  • Hey @jpgoem,

If you want to submit a support ticket for this issue I can have a closer look at your setup. Please provide a link to this thread when submitting the ticket.

    Thanks~

Just as an additional note, I have experienced this exact issue in moving perhaps a half dozen sites both ways (staging to live and the reverse). These sites were built with different themes and plugins. I didn’t submit anything, because for me the one edit isn’t onerous. However, I thought knowing it may not be rare might be useful or helpful. And I assumed seeing others note it, the fix would come along sooner than later.
