Error establishing a database connection–Multisite

  • We are running out own server, and have been running 2 sites since January. The main site hasn’t been created yet but we still have subsites operating:

    https://142.33.224.13/grade8
    https://142.33.224.13/catzcrew

    The grade 8 site has suddenly stopped working. We no longer see it under “my sites” as “grade 8,” just as 142.33.224.13 (which is meant to be the main website). We can’t even log in to see the dashboard!

    There is obviously something wrong with the SQL database but we have no idea what or how to fix it. Our website is down and we don’t have a backup of the database. How do we find the issue or repair the database? Not familiar with wordpress so a step by step would be helpful!
