Error establishing a database connection & Could not connect to server

You will have to get cPanel or FTP access. You need to have some way of editing that file, and until you get that access there’s nothing that you can do.

Talk to your hosting company and they will be able to send you the details that you need.

@Ipotadle delete your wordpress database from phpMyAdmin and install a fresh copy of WordPress that will do

go to wp-config-sample.php file copy all its code and create a new file wp-config.php over there and write your databse name,username and password.
save it and then try

It depends what you attempted to do that broke down your website. If your website went down on its own it might be caused by crashed database. In that case you should repaid your database.

I now have wordpress access and cpanel access. The hosting company already restored the database and that helped but now none of the interior pages are showing up. I have already replaced the wp_config.php.

From my Hosting Company – The wp_enqueue script is bad or something. This is usually something wrong with the Theme. –

In that case contact with theme author

I found out that the website got hacked through an outdated and unsupported plugin. After I restored the theme it still did not work and after digging around the cpanel some more I found that the paga.php was empty. So all I had to do was refill it with the proper code.
