Error establishing a database connection – AWS Lightsail Instance

  • Hi, my website was running fine and suddenly it stopped working while I was working on the backend.
    I am seeing an error that says ‘Error establishing a database connection’ for the last two days.

    My site is hosted on AWS Lightsail (Bitnami). I tried everything but nothing has worked yet. I have been asking in Bitnami support forums too but haven’t got a response.

    I checked using the SSH and found out that ‘MySql could not start’. Everything else is okay.
    I also have enough space on my disk so that shouldn’t be a problem too.

    I understand from my searches that this issue has a lot of occurrences and many people have been struggling with it. However, there are multiple reasons for this error to appear and I am unable to pinpoint what is causing the error for me.

    Can someone please help?
