• Yesterday, I logged into our site and clicked the “automatically upgrade to 2.8.4” button, and now we have the “Error establishing a database connection” issue.

I logged into our Media Temple server via my FTP client, and took a look inside the wp-config.php file (the usual suspect), and realized that didn’t have a backup anywhere to refer to, so I don’t know if the user/pass combo is correct or not.

I can, however, login through Media Temple’s CPanel and access the database through phpMyAdmin.

Can anyone tell me how I use phpMyAdmin (or some other method) to find the MySQL Database username and password so I can verify that the wp-config.php file is correct?

I do have regular WordPress database backups I can refer to, as well, just need some directions on where to look.

    Thanks in advance!

  • log in to phpmyadmin and “browse” the wp_users table
and also the wp_options table to see if site url’s are correct also
