Error establishing a database connection

  • Hi everyone

    I just uploaded a website to my sub domain via FTP Filzella and when i check in browser this error gives : Error establishing a database connection

    plz share me your thoughts .

  • Sounds like you uploaded the files but you didn’t build a database for it.

    My guess is the database that it might know about (if any) isn’t reachable from the subdomain either.

    What I would have done would have been to build a site on the sub-domain using an installer and then uploaded the site files I wanted to use with that over the existing files.

    Don’t clobber the wp-config.php file when you do the upload either.

    @jnashhawkins thanks for your response. I created database and i used before it but here i think login credentials are different in wp-config and Phpmyadmin. How to access phpmyadmin when you lost your password ?
