Error establishing a database connection

  • Hello,

    For 2 days now I have been unable to access my wordpress blog (https://blog.bibulu.com/), I always get this same, plain message.
    When I try to go to the wp-admin side of the blog I get the same message, so I can’t do much.
    Is this a wordpress server problem or how can I fix this?
    Please be as simple as possible as I’m not an experienced user.

    Error connecting to your database is common, but it isn’t necessarily a problem with wordpress itself.
    – double check your wp-config.php file settings for the database name, database username and database password. This is where most errors occur.
    – Then check that you don’t need to change the database host from “localhost” to something else. You can get that info from your hosting provider.
    – Check you have actually created a database with the same database name as is in your wp-config.php file.
    – Last, but not least, if all that information is correct your database probably has a problem with it, and you may need to contact your hosting provider if the database server is online / if they have any other problem at their end, or they made any changes to your account, or if there are any limitations/restrictions, if the hosting package is set to Windows and not Linux, etc.

    Hi I can’t access to wp-config.php it gives me the same error message.
    And this may sound stupid but how do I know what my hosting provider is? I thought it was wordpress?

    Are you self hosting?
    Are paying some other hosting company to host your blog?
    Is your blog on wordpress.com?

    I wasn’t the one who set up the blog but I believe it is hosted on wordpress.com.
    I asked around for the info but the person who made the blog isn’t reachable anymore.
