Error Establishing a Database Connection

  • Hello, This seems like a common problem with wordpress but after browsing the threads I haven’t found an answer that worked for me.

    I hadn’t logged into this site for a couple weeks but today I logged into the wp-admin didnt do anything then a half hour later decided to install a plugin, I clicked on plugins and saw the error establishing database connection. since then I haven’t been able to log in to wp-admin or to see the site.

    I host with godaddy so I called them and they said everything was ok on their end and that I should come here for help. I looked at the contents of my wp-config.php file and it looks correct.

    What is the next step in order to get some help so I can get back to work on the site?

  • New site as in newly registered and setup domain? In that case it might be a propagation issue. This can take up to 48 hours to correct itself. But as I’m assuming things are all done through GoDaddy, I’m not sure why things are working the way they are. I’ve setup new sites through them and never saw any issues.

    Edit: Glad to hear it’s a GD issues and they are working to fix it.

    I have the same sort of problem. I go to my dashboard and now I get nothing after clicking on almost all of the buttons except ones like askimet. I can’t see who my users after they register I can’t delete junk nothing. Does anone have any ideas here?
