Error establishing a database connection
-
Hi all,
I have been developing in WordPress for quite some time now but have never faced something like this previously – probably have not experimented like this before as well. Here is what I have in as long as the environment is concerned:
1. I have installed a [Zend] WebServer on my local machine on port90
instead of the default port [80].
2. I have installed MySql Server on a non-default port 3310.I am able to access the MySQL instance through phpMyAdmin and MySQL Workbench as well without any problem, this is as far as I can go.
When I try to install the WordPress 3.61 [I faced this issue with v3.6 as well] and enter the credentials [DB Name, User, Password, DB Host and Prefix] and press the submit button, I am greeted with the above error message “Error establishing a database connection” don’t know why?
I am sure this has something to do with the installation of MySQL server on a non-default port 3310, will really appreciate if anyone can advise on this.
Thanks in advance!
