Error establishing a database connection

  • So I have my wordpress installed like usual, and then I make sure I have my domain pointed at the the server ip. Once all set up, I test it out by opening a new tab, and typing https://www.shorescraft.us/mainpage. (mainpage is the name of my wordpress directory file by the way.) Instead of getting the heart-warming “Hello World!” on the “mainpage”, I get an error page that says “Error establishing a database connection”. I don’t know what I did wrong?

  • Make sure that you entered the correct database name, database username, database password and MySQL hostname in your wp-config.php file.
