Error establishing a database connection

    Hi Everyone,

    OK, please do not laugh first of all, I have made a very silly mistake.

    I built a site using Twenty Eleven [with child theme] on one domain name. I bought another domain name which I wanted to host the same content on. I changed the WordPress Address URL and Site Address URL to that of my new domain.
    I then continued building my site logging in through the new domain admin page.

    Then [as I subscribe to a VPS] deleted the old domain and set up web forwarding through 123 to point to new domain and thought everything would be wonderful.

    It isn’t. It’s a nightmare.

    I know I have lost something like the original database but is there a way of repairing this? The old domain is gone forever and I cannot retrieve it. Do I have to start from scratch?
