    When trying to access my website the page displays “error establishing a database connection.”

    How do I fix this issue?

    you will need the details about your database from your webhosting account (hostgator?) and compare them to the details in your wp-config.php file (file can be accessed in your webhosting account). if you are not sure how to find the database details or the wp-config.php file, please contact the webhosting vendor that you pay for service. (volunteers on this forum do not have access to the webhosting account)
