Error establishing a database connection

  • Hi there .. i just created a site and when i activate the theme that i will be using i am getting this error Error establishing a database connection .. can someone help me fix the issue? thanks in advance.

    A few things to check:

    1. Is the database server running? Can you access the database from your hosting control panel via PHPMYADMIN?

    2. If it is running, are the DB defines in wp-config.php correct? You may have to check with your host about them.
