Error establishing a database connection

  • For some strange reason I now cannot log in to my wordpress hosted by my own webserver. I get this message “Error establishing a database connection”. “This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.”
    I called my server but they don’t know what is wrong..I don’t think i did anything different in last days..

  • First start by confirming the validity of information in your wp-config.php file, and also check to see if you can access your database with something like phpMyAdmin.

    Thanks Michael, Iwill keep that in mind for next time..woke up this morning and it was fixed..must have been at server end..
