For any orders using Sezzle as their payment option they appear to be stuck in On Hold Status. When we try to move them to processed we get two error messages.

Error during status transition. Unable to capture payment.
Error during status transition. Unable to capture payment.

Then the order stays put. We’ve updated to 2.0.9 but we have about 17 that are stuck.

Please let me know how to troubleshoot this.

  • Check Sezzle log for more information.

Basically, when Payment Action is set to Authorize Only, we only authorize the payment during order placement. Once, order is placed, store owner needs to capture the payment by changing the order status to Processing/Complete within capture expiration time in Order Details page. If anything goes wrong, you will get error in order note and in Sezzle log.

If you want instant capture, set Payment Action to Authorize and Capture Only. In this case, you dont need to capture manually.

Firstly – thanks for such a quick response! Our customers really like Sezzle and we’re happy to have it on our store.

We already have it set to “Authorize and Capture” and when we login to sezzle.com the charges appear to be coming in fine.

We even have “Payment approved by Sezzle successfully.” as the first note in the order so everything is going perfect until we try to move the order from On Hold to Completed.

The only part that’s hanging up is switching the status of the order which throws those two errors and stays marked “on hold”. This is only happening w/ Sezzle orders and has only manifested fairly recently (since July 24, 2019) but we had orders previously that worked fine…

    Thanks for your help again

    Sorry for the inconvenience created.

Can you please check the Sezzle log of the date when you tried to change the status of that order? Hope, you will get some info.

In the meantime, I will try to generate the scenario.

Sorry for being ignorant but I’ve been looking in the wordpress site and also sezzle.com but I don’t know where to see the log.

    Go to Woocommerce-Status-Logs.

Sorry, but it would be helpful if you send Sezzle log for that day. You will find Sezzle log in the dropdown.

The last one called Sezzlepay-2019-08-21-76a980de924dc2dcc332a3f2c68610d7.log was on 08-21 and the rest are named this way

    log-2019-09-05-c44f5cf1911153bd9c789f39d32ab006.log

I can’t include a screenshot but the Sezzle logs were being created each day until 08/21 and after that they stopped

Makes me think maybe I need to remove Sezzle and re-add it maybe? What would that do to the existing orders?

I dont think it will have an impact on existing orders.

However, it would be good if you can create a support ticket at Sezzle and send the credentials of your site and someone would be able to check it real quick.
