Error during plugin update

Hello,
on multiple sites when trying to update from 1.4.15 to 1.5.2.6 I get the following message:
An error occurred while updating WordPress SEO: Could not create directory. wordpress-seo/admin/license-manager
Any idea why this is happening? I’ve checked permissions and they are correct.
