Error downloading digital product

I also see that if “Product Name” field, under “Product Data” (Simple/Downloadable Product), is blank WooCommerce includes the name “View” instead of the product name, as expected.

If you’re still having issues with that, can you share a copy of your System Status report with us?

You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

1. The word “view” is entered if the file name is blank, (next to the download link, the back end).
2. A file called “view” is downloaded instead of the product file (except in the “direct download” option)

I can’t reproduce what you describe on my test site which is running with only WooCommerce core enabled and the default Storefront theme. Have you already performed a conflict test?

A file called “view” is downloaded instead of the product file

This doesn’t seem to be the original downloadable product but a file that an online “CheckFileType” service recognizes as an HTML file.

Can you please share the following?

1) Your Downloadable products settings in WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Downloadable products.

2) Downloadable product permissions in WooCommerce > Orders > (select order) > Downloadable product permissions – https://i.imgur.com/HQNy5Lt.png.

Thanks for sharing the screenshots! All looks fine there, the download should be working.

Notice that the order page mentions “view” as the file ordered for download, instead of something like “example.pdf”.

Can you please check if the file for download still shows up in the “Edit product” page? See the image below as reference:

This is strange! Does it also happen when you have all plugins disabled (except WooCommerce) and your theme changed from Astra to Storefront (https://www.woocommerce.com/storefront/)?

At the same time, can you also clear the cache from your LiteSpeed Cache plugin? Kindly test this setup out and report how it goes.
