Error: DataTables warning: table id=role-list – Ajax error

I have this same error. How was it resolved ?

That is a good question. I forgot how I solved it but I think it had something to do with the security plugin I use.

Was it wordfense ?

I have the same problem. The error keeps me from editing any settings. Tried to reinstall the plugin but that doesn’t help. The plugin is with this error useless.

The problem is caused by GEO IP that is blocking the script. You can exclude aam in GEO IP Admin ajax/post (Exceptions) section.

Hi guys,

This pop-up it triggered by DataTable javascript library that AAM uses for table views. Typically this means that AJAX calls that are fired under the hood, failed to respond with valid JSON. Sorry for the technicalities but this means that it is almost 100% caused by some sort of PHP error.

My recommendation is to do one of the two things:

1. Turn off PHP display_errors setting and make sure that your WordPress is not running in debug mode;

2. Disable all plugins one-by-one and switch to default WordPress theme to find out what possibly can cause this issue.

Something breaks AJAX calls. You just have to find what. Honestly I do not have a magical answer to this problem. Check your PHP error log and send me what you’ll find there.
