• Hi, CookieYes,

I installed the consent banner using the CookieYes WordPress plugin. I integrated it it with consent mode using the Google Tag Manager “CookieYes Community Template Gallery.” I also checked the boxes “Support GCM” and “Allow Google Tags to Fire Before Consent.”

Checking Consent Status returns “Error: Consent Tab Empty.” Also, GA4 reporting has dropped more than 90% since implementing the Consent banner + Consent mode.

I’ll appreciate your help and suggestion to resolve this issue.

    Hello Shamsudeen,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

We could see the CookieYes Installation Script being added multiple times to your website and the “Uncaught RangeError: Maximum call stack size exceeded” error. This can happen if you’re using both the CookieYes WordPress plugin and the CookieYes CMP template in Google Tag Manager simultaneously or if you’ve manually added the CookieYes script while already using the GTM template or WordPress plugin.

Please note that the CookieYes CMP tag implementation in Google Tag Manager is not supported when you use the CookieYes plugin. The CookieYes plugin and CookieYes CMP tag add the banner script to your website. So, when both the CookieYes plugin and CookieYes CMP tag are employed simultaneously, the banner script is duplicated on your website, causing a conflict in the site’s JavaScript functionality.

When using the plugin, you only need to follow the custom script implementation to integrate Google Consent Mode v2 on your website. I have included the documentation below for your reference.
