    Hi,

    After having read previous topics about the very same problem, I’ve deactivated ADP but get the following message:
    “Error connecting to WordPress REST API. Disable ad-blocker for this page or unblock /wp-json/wp-statistics/v2/metabox in the ad-blocker configuration.”
    But’m sorry to say that I have no idea how to unblock the mentioned link in the ad-blocker. I don’t find a hint there.
    I additionally deactivated Ghostery for my page and again no results and no message is displayed but the endless searching for results …

    Or should I simply wait for ?adding that URL to?https://easylist.to/easylist/easylist.txt?whitelist?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hello,

    Could you please verify if the requests might be blocked due to a different extension? We are currently in touch with them to resolve this issue.

    Alternatively, you can unblock the requests by following these steps: open the Developer Tools, navigate to Network, and look for XHR.

    Hello Mostafa,

    Thanks for your reply.
    My adblock extension is Adblock Plus – free AdblockerVersion 3.19. I’m working with Opera 102.0.4880.46.

    I opened the Developer Tools, navigated to Network, and looked for XHR. When I right-clicked on the request, I get the unblock option only if I click on the block request URL. I unblock, refresh the statistics and see the very same message.

    I disabled both ABP and the Opera inbuilt ad blocker, the result remains the same as above-mentioned. So in my case, the ad blockers seemingly don’t cause the blocked request.

    So, where is the hidden error? Or what I’m doing wrong??

    Best wishes
    Andreas

    Weird indeed, to make sure, can you please check in incognito browsing? or another browser

    Thread Starter Androulakis

    (@androulis)

    Opera incognito shows no message and don’t display any results, but seems continuously in search mode. See picture:

    With Edge, Chrome and Firefox it’s the same picture: in both cases incognito and not-incognito. No messages shown but beavering away.

    On my tablet, everything works fine, and I get the results …

    Weird indeed.

    Let’s check the Console and then Requests on Network

    (@androulis)

    Well, sorry, how do I check the console and which one?

    Issues:
    "A cross-origin resource sharing (CORS) request was blocked because of invalid or missing response headers of the request or the associated preflight request .
    To fix this issue, ensure the response to the CORS request and/or the associated preflight request are not missing headers and use valid header values.
    Note that if an opaque response is sufficient, the request's mode can be set to no-cors to fetch the resource with CORS disabled; that way CORS headers are not required but the response content is inaccessible (opaque).

    There are no meta box requests?…

    I’ve had the same problem since the plugin update.

    Hi Mostafa,
    just got the update for WP Statistics to V 14.1.6.2 and now again I get all the results as it should be.
    So what was the solution to my (specific) problem? How did you fix it?
    Nevertheless, thanks for your support!

    Cretan greetings

    @androulis

    The issue has been fixed in the new version, and admin requests have been switched to ajax-admin.php.

    @eclipse16v

    Could you please take a screenshot of the requests?

    @androulis

    We switched the admin requests from the REST API endpoint wp-sttaistics/metabox to admin-ajax.php because someone mistakenly added the wp-sttaistics/ prefix to Easylist, which caused all admin requests to stop working. In this case, we switched to admin-ajax.php, which is a general WordPress endpoint that cannot be blocked by ad blockers.

    Thanks a lot for the fix you provided!
    Everything’s working fine now!

    This is the latest screenshot of the requests that you asked for. Looks quite the same as I send recently:

    With my best wishes, Mostafa
