Error connecting to wordfence servers

  • [Feb 23 13:21:03] Scan terminated with error: There was an error connecting to the the Wordfence scanning servers: Couldn’t resolve host ‘noc1.wordfence.com’

    I am getting the above error when trying to manual scan. Also all scans on other sites are not completing. Is there an issue on Wordfence side?

    Hi,

    We did not have any outages recently. Sometimes this could be a temporarily problem between your host and our location, but if you’re getting the message consistently, the host probably has a firewall blocking certain connections, or in this case, they might not have DNS configured correctly. (Depending on their settings, both could cause the “Couldn’t resolve host” message.)

    Near the bottom of the Wordfence options page, there is a link to test connectivity to the servers — you can try that to see if there are any additional details reported.

    We have more details here as well — the iptables and telnet troubleshooting steps would normally be done by the host, unless you run the server yourself:
