Hello, I recently started to encounter some errors with the Woocommerce Square plugin. I was notified that the checkout page shows a: there is no payment method available and tried troubleshooting the issue.

I disconnected the square account, deleted and reinstalled the plugin, and during configuration I keep getting an error trying to connect to square:

Something went wrong when connecting to Square!

    Please try again.

from the Woocommerce api link: https://api.woocommerce.com/integrations/auth/square…….

I disabled all my plugins already thinking it was a conflict issue.. the error suddenly occurred as it is reported by many other users in the past hours.

The woocommerce status page does not show any issue as everything is highlighted on green.

I also wanted to address that I haven’t made any modifications nor installed any additional plugins during this period. the error occurred all of a sudden..

please let me know if there is anything to provide from my end for troubleshooting.

    kind regards!

    Helllo,

Yes, i was able to fix it, thank you.

So I am having the same problem and was on another forum where they found what the problem is. They said –

The way i got it to work was i right clicked on the connect button and saw that the link looks like it has been double encoded so when you hit the button and get the error simply replace the https%253A%252F%252 with https:// etc throughout the url in the address bar and hit return.

So I did that and it connected me but when I go back it’s still in Sandbox mode and when I click on Production again it wants me to connect to Square again. The button “Connect to Square” appears again.

I tried changing the URL to add the characters and it gets to the “That’s my site! Redirect me!” page and when I click the button I get a “Sorry, you do not have permission to manage the Square connection.” error when it goes back. The Woocommerce app is in my App Integrations on Squareup but it just won’t connect and I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong but I suspect it’s something plugin related. It was fine until a few days ago when it said I had to disconnect and reconnect square and now I cannot reconnect square. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin as well to no effect.

Edit: That was after I did the change that Peggy had suggested with the unicode characters in the url. After correcting that the first error went away but the “Sorry, you do not have permission to manage the Square connection.” error when I click “That’s my site! Redirect me!” is now my roadblock.

Didn’t see anyone start a new thread however I ran into this same issue – a sudden disconnect from Production that was working the day prior. I did exactly what @lpjjonine recommended but before that, I had to disconnect the WooCommerce app from Square in the My Applications section (https://squareup.com/dashboard/apps/my-applications).

After disconnecting I was able to re-connect but then ran into the “Something went wrong when connecting to Square!” error. Replaced “https%253A%252F%252F” in the URL with “https://”, refreshed and connection worked.

    Thanks a bunch!

A new version of the Square plugin (4.7.1) has been released with a fix for this problem.

Heads up! There may be a problem with your connection to Square. In order to continue accepting payments, please disconnect and re-connect your site.

Despite “disconnection and reconnecting” our Square account with WooCommerce, this issue is still happening. The good news is, payments seem to be processing ok.

There are so many different people/stores/setups complaining about the same issue, it is more likely to be a problem with this plugin rather than a variety of different installations of it.

Is there going to be a permanent fix?

    Hi @efishinsea,

Sorry to hear that you are experiencing the same issue.

However, to align with?forum best practices, please create a new topic so that we can address your issue(s) separately.
You can create a new thread here.
    Thanks for understanding!
