People trying to subscribe using our forms on https://www.openbriefing.org are getting an ‘Error collecting the API response.’ message when clicking submit.

This has happened in Safari on OS X and iOS and Chrome on Linux and Android, but not in Firefox in OS X.

The plugin is up to date.

Could it have anything to do with us switching the site to https last night?

    Hi @tagaeri,

Hmm. “Error collecting the API response” indicates a complete failure in the script. Looking at your site, my first idea is that something is going wrong with the caching/optimization/minification that WP-Rocket is doing. I’ve seen these kinds of plugins break our plugin in the past. Is there anyway you can turn off WP-Rocket (just to test), or even better, explicitly exclude the Easy Forms directory/files from it’s algorithm? I’ll take a quick look at the WP-Rocket docs; they should have some way of excluding files.

    Let me know,
    Kevin.

    Thanks Kevin!

I can exclude CSS and JS files from the minification if you could let me know what should be excluded…

    Ahh yes, sorry about that!

These are the files to exclude:

    • /wp-content/plugins/yikes-inc-easy-mailchimp-extender/public/js/form-submission-helpers.min.js
    • /wp-content/plugins/yikes-inc-easy-mailchimp-extender/public/js/yikes-mc-ajax-forms.min.js

The styling looks like it’s okay on your site, but if you want to make sure you’re including our plugin’s styles, that file is: /wp-content/plugins/yikes-inc-easy-mailchimp-extender/public/css/yikes-inc-easy-mailchimp-extender-public.min.css

Let me know if that works!

    Kevin.

Brilliant, thanks! Excluding the two js files from WP Rocket caching fixed it. Thanks for the quick support!
