Error: Author profile page redirects to another URL.

  • I’m trying to link my google plus profile to my site. I inserted my profile ID into the user section and tried out the snippet tool in GWT.

    All I’m getting is the above message. It redirects to this ID = 9223372036854775807.

    How do I fix it? I’m afraid that it will come across as duplicated content and my site contains nothing but original content.

    Don’t worry about this. Have resolved it.

    For everyone’s info, this plugin does not appear to automatically configure with google authorship. I thought it did.

    WordPress SEO does automatically insert valid Google Authorship markup, but not when the user enters their profile URL incorrectly.

    You must insert your FULL Google+ profile URL into “Your Profile” in WordPress, not just the number. You need to have the “https://plus.google.com/” in there as well.

    Currently, the author meta in the <head> of your site looks like this:
    <link rel="author" href="103093506223212784034">

    That is acting as a relative URL, so it’s just tacking that number onto the page’s current permalink.

    What you’re actually linking to in this case is https://www.interactiontalks.com/teen-looks/teen-acne/teen-acne-home-acne-care/103093506223212784034

    Thing is, you haven’t even filled out your Google+ profile so Authorship is going to do just about nothing for you. At the very least you should add a profile picture and a little bit to the “About” section, even if you’re not posting.

    Oh, I see. Thanks for that. I did it as you said and it worked.

    Lol, I know. I haven’t filled it out. I’ve been focusing on writing articles rather than doing up my profile. Will need to do that next.
