Error at activation

I get this error when activating the plugin (v1.0)
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘[‘ in C:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\show-hide-author\show_hide_author.php on line 318
I removed the brackets, but some other users may not know how to fix it. It would probably be best if you fix them in the plugin as well.
