• I am getting an error on posts on wheelsoftime.uk/:

Warning: Trying to access array offset on value of type bool in …/wp/wp-content/themes/shoreditch/inc/jetpack.php on line 235
    >

It has only arisen in the last week or so, so presumably with a update.

I’ve searched the forums but this error seems to arise most commonly in plug-ins.

    WordPress 5.7.2, Shoreditch 1.2.2, PHP 8.06

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi there,

There hasn’t been any recent updates to this theme, but it could be that a plugin update has introduced a conflict. I also don’t see any errors when I enable this theme on a test site, which further points to it being something specific to your site.

Please disable all plugins on your site. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you are able to install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Let us know the results.

    Thank you

I did the plug-in check using ‘Health Check and Troubleshooting’.

It seems there is a conflict between BadgeOS and Shoreditch. It didn’t occur when the Twenty Twenty theme was enabled in Troubleshooting Mode.

The plugin compatibility tool in Health Check did identify that many of the plugins we are running, including BadgeOS aren’t tested with PHP higher than 7.3 so (after doing a complete backup) I reverted to PHP 7.4, problem remained, then 7.3 problem resolved.

I’ll draw Learning Times’ attention to the issue and watch for testing of future updates of BadgeOS with PHP 8.

Thanks for letting me know ??
